      Features:
The Patton features are designed to give this industrial wheel an all-terrain design with useful everyday amenities.
Display: The updated top-mounted parameter display has a more extensive interface, shows more technical parameters, has a two-layer inner and outer cover, and is better protected from rain.
Trolley Handle: Leaperkim chose a classic studier handle over the newer folding style. These built-in handles are firmer, adjustable in height, and sturdier by design.
Jumping Aide: The new front-mounted help gives you more control when going over rougher terrain. Leaperkim is the first to introduce this style of adjustable module. Please be aware that the Patton can’t reach its full potential without jumping pads that you buy separately. Leaperkim has not released side pads for this iteration. We stock aftermarket side pads that can be velcroed on the side panels for more control.
Spiked Pedals: The adjustable pedals are made of Magnesium alloy, which makes them more durable, and they have loaded tension to make them more stable and stop them from flapping around when you’re getting on or off. The spikes have been improved from the last Sherman-S iteration and allow for more grip during acceleration and braking.
External Buzzer: The external speaker will notify if the wheel is on a lower battery or near cut-out/brown-out speeds and loads. Riders can expect buzzing and tilt back when reaching lower battery voltages (97V, 94.5V, 87V)
Lighting: 2,000LM dual 18W headlights, a rear taillight, and auto-turning signals allow riders to see and be seen in day and night riding conditions. The lighting package on the Patton is some of the brightest lamps on the current market, allowing for safer riding conditions.

NEW: Upgraded Samsung High-Power 50S Battery Pack

The most valuable component of any Wheel is its battery pack, the beating pulse of the machine. Over the years it has been found, from painful experience, that pairing a high-powered machine with a battery cell that is not designed for high peak-power applications can result in latent/delayed catastrophic thermal runaway events. To try to minimize this risk, we at eWheels, have insisted the use of high-powered battery cells, particularly on smaller 4 parallel packs, such as the MTen4, A2, T4, S18, Hero, S22, & Master—as the number of parallels increase, the load on each cells decreases accordingly. Until recently, there was the trade-off between power & capacity; now, with the advent of the new Samsung 50S cell, one can have both!

      • Energy Density: 50S has a 20% increase in energy density over the 40T, providing a corresponding increase in range without any weight/bulk penalty.
      • Higher Operating Temperatures: the specifications of the 50S has a vast operating range, from -20 to 80°C/-4 to 176°F vs -20-60°C/-4-140°F with the commonly used 50E/GB cell & as high as 100°C/212°F in Samsung’s test data! This massive margin not only allows the 50S to output up to 3x more power than the 50E, but perhaps more importantly, will greatly improve battery pack safety, there is no conceivable scenario in which these limits will ever be reached, or exceeded.
      • Power Output: the maximum sustained power output on the 50s is 45A vs 15A on the 50E. At pack level, this represents a total potential sustained output of 15,120W, on the Patton. From a Rider’s perspective, the main benefit of having this power on-tap is once the pack(s) have been partially depleted, reducing the risk of cut-outs when power is required.

      • Rapid-charging: another benefit of the 50s over the 50E is charging rates, 2.25x higher, 6A vs 2.5A. It should be noted that although the cell supports the higher charging current, there may be other factors that limit maximum charge rate, such as the charge-port, wiring & BMS components. On the Patton, the maximum rate of charge should not exceed 16A.
      • Superior Cycle-life: perhaps the most common misconception of high-power cells is that of reduced cycle-life, but this is fundamentally a misunderstanding of the published datasheet for battery cells. In these publications, Samsung’s data is based on exceedingly high sustained loads of 25A/45A. Other Samsung materials demonstrates that in 10A continuous load scenario, the 50S commands a slight lead over the the 50E for longevity, with >82% capacity retention over 600 cycles.
It should also be noted that these synthetic tests in no way represent the power demand pattern that is experienced when using your machine, where the average load, on flat terrain, will be closer to 2-3A/cell vs the 10A in the test data—there may be periods where this demand is considerably more than the 10A, which is where the high-power cells really come into their element. In addition, the [50S] 600 cycles were charged at the maximum 6A vs a typical 1.5A with the stock charger, which also has an impact on the pack’s longevity.

In summary, the 50S battery cell is objectively superior in every measurable metric, with only a marginal increase in upfront cost. It is expected that machines fitted with these packs will retain their value better than other battery cells.

      Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the Veteran Patton electric unicycle made for?

Given Patton’s sheer power, weight, and range capacity, this model is perfect for riders seeking a higher torque 18″ wheel with all of the latest and best chassis, shell, controller, and battery technology in an electric unicycle. The Patton would be great for daily commuter riding at high speeds and steep gradients. The Patton is not the best option for absolute beginners. Message us with any questions or parameters you have about this wheel!

Is the Veteran Patton beginner friendly?

The Patton is for advanced riders with at least three months of riding experience. While it’s not made for beginners, with the right amount of time and effort used to develop foot muscles and balance, any person can learn to handle the power and weight of the Patton. We recommend this model for advanced riders, but it isn’t impossible to slowly learn on this heavy and powerful wheel.

      What’s the top speed?

The Patton is rated for a 80.47 km/h top speed at full charge, making this 18″ wheel one of the fastest models. Average riding specs can be sustained from 20 up to 45+ km/h. Please pay attention to buzzers, voltage, and tilt back during operation. We’ll update our specs once we receive more performance results.

      What’s the real-world range?

Patton owners can expect 30-70 kilometres of real-world riding range. Different riding ranges can vary by total payload, battery charge, temperature, gradient, etc. A minimum of 30 kilometres of high-speed riding can be expected. Please pay attention to the voltage, buzzers, mobile app, and display for real-time readings.

Is the Veteran Patton suitable for heavy riders?

The chassis can handle a payload of up to 120 kg and is fantastic for heavier loads. For riders seeking more extended ranges, we suggest the EX30, Master, and Sherman-S.

      Is the Veteran Patton heavy?

At 40.37 kg, the Patton is a big wheel. Leaperkim designed the Patton to have a heavier chassis with high speed and stability in mind; early testers noted the wheel not feeling heavy while in motion. The body of the Patton is made of 7071 aircraft-grade aluminum for increased strength, lighter weight, and stress resistance in high-speed/torque applications. Leaperkim has demonstrated durability in recent crash test videos. Even though Patton did well in impact and collision tests, we do not recommend that Patton riders do the same thing. Consider the Inmotion V11, Begode T4, and King Song S22 Pro for lighter-weight wheels.

Is the Veteran Patton better than the Veteran Sherman-S?

Like the EX30, Sherman-S owners seek out the larger 3600WH pack for high-speed, long-range riding. While the Patton is equipped with the same suspension system and similar drivetrains, its 126V system excels in torque and acceleration but falls short in range compared to the Sherman-S’s 3600WH capacity. The 2220WH capacity is designed for riders who don’t seek the additional battery range or weight of the Sherman-S. The decision between the two can be challenging!

Is the Veteran Patton better than the Begode EX30?

The Begode EX30 is priced at €1000 more and offers a 60% larger battery pack. The EX30 is excellent for riders with a more extended riding experience with blistering top speeds and high torque (134-volt acceleration and torque). The suspension, weight, price, and range will be critical factors in shopping between the two models.

Is the Veteran Patton better than the Begode T4?

Begode T4 owners will prefer its lighter weight and lower cost combination. The T4 comes in at €850 less and is equipped with a lean chassis and a Samsung 40T battery pack. The T4 is a fantastic option for budget riders who want a no-frills, lightweight, and customizable beginner suspension wheel.

Is the Veteran Patton better than the King Song S22 Pro?

The Patton and the S22 Pro have top-level performance, and their battery voltages and prices are about the same. Some customers prefer the S22 as this model is in stock, lighter in weight, has a larger 20” tire, and has a more significant 130mm dampening than the Patton. The S22 Pro comes with upgraded sliders and a 4KW-rated motor, making it a solid choice.

Is the Veteran Patton better than the Begode Master?

The Patton offers the latest technology at a lower price point when compared to our LiTech Begode Masters. Customers like the Master because it is lighter in weight, has a proven 3rd batch version, can be customized, and comes with 134V Samsung batteries with higher voltage options. For a no-frills, high-speed, lower-weight street cruiser, the Master is a viable option to consider.

Does the Veteran Patton have a warning system?

The latest firmware has display and buzzer warnings for battery temperature, overcharging, balancing, high voltage, charging rates, drivetrain overheating, and hall errors. Please watch the display codes and buzzers while operating or setting your machine.
